The appalling attack at the Manchester Arena on Monday is currently being treated as a suspected terrorist incident. All our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones or been injured or traumatised. The police, hospitals, Council and emergency services are doing all they can to support them. As a Borough we will remain strong and it is more important than ever that our communities continue to support each other.

Our school leadership team will continue to ensure the safety of our children and security of our school building, and will remain vigilant at all times.

We appreciate these terrible events will be distressing your children and the school community. We will remain open as usual and we appreciate your support in keeping the day as calm and normal as possible for the children. We have access to Counselling and support services should anybody require this.

As we receive further information from Wigan Council, we will update parents/carers via our website.

 Executive Head's Welcome

 Karen4-024D373435.jpg

Shevington Community Primary is a very successful member of our three schools Federation.

Indeed it is the first of the three schools to be rated outstanding by Ofsted - a well deserved accolade and one that was supported in many ways by its association with its partner schools.

Shevington Community is currently the smallest school in the Federation. It is small but it is certainly perfectly formed.

Set in a lovely location with stunning views over the countryside, its mixture of new and historic features gives it a certain charm that is always admired by visitors.

The school's shared leadership team and Governing Body as well as all of the staff, work hard to ensure that the children receive an education of the highest quality every single day.

The children are proud of their school and together make a very significant contribution to its success through for instance the Young Governors, the Eco Committee and the team of keen junior gardeners.

The school is a vibrant and active member of the Federation. It has so much to offer on its own but everyone who works and learns here recognises that as in many things in life - we are stronger together.

Welcome to Shevington Community Primary. I hope that our website brings to life our wonderful school and its amazing people.

Please contact the school office should you require a hard copy of the website content.
