"Milestones"

Milestones has been operating as a high quality childcare provider for over seven years and offers a wide range of flexible services for children, parents, carers and families.  Milestones is open for 10.5 hours per day, 51 weeks of the year.

Services available:

• Full Day Care for children aged 18 months to 3 years
• Sessional Care for children aged 18 months to 3 years
• Lunchtime Care for children aged 18 months to 3 years
• Before and After School Care for children aged 18 months to 11 years
• Holiday Club Care for children aged 3 years to 11 years

Milestones staff work very closely with the Early Years Staff at Shevington Community Primary School and together form the Early Years Team.  This team consists of staff from Childcare, Children's Centre, Nursery and Reception.  Together the Early Years team carefully plan the transitions from childcare to Nursery and Nursery to Reception Class.  The Early Years Team meet on a regular basis to share planning, observation, assessment and record keeping strategies in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Document.  All Early Years Foundation Stage children come together when celebrating events such as National Bookstart Day, Christmas Parties and other themed events. 

In March 2009 the School and Childcare were inspected by Ofsted.  The Early Years Foundation Stage was awarded an 'outstanding' grade and was desribed as 'high quality' which led to children making 'outstanding progress'.

Care and integrated early education for the 18 month to 5 year olds takes place  in the Early Years building and educational activity based care for the 5 to 11 year olds takes place in the Primary building.   Both settings have been purposefully designed and equipped for the relevant age groups. 

All services are fully staffed with experienced / qualified staff. Our groups are extremely popular and advanced booking is required to secure places. Staff will be pleased to advise and arrange on the individual needs that families may require.
